Research Interests

Dr. Fisher’s research interests have been centered on the surgical treatment of hip and knee disease. He has maintained a total joint database since 1989, keeping track of outcomes and complications as related to surgical techniques and prosthetic implants. He has been instrumental in the development of new surgical tools and techniques for joint replacement, as well as the design and manufacturing of new prosthetic implants. Several of these devices are currently being used around the world to help treat patients with hip and knee disease. In addition, he has been involved in research to identify and reduce the risk of complications after joint replacement surgery, and to improve patient outcomes after this major surgical procedure. While much of this work has been done at Ortho Indy, other projects have been in conjunction with other surgeons from around the world.
